Should Spiritual People Use AI? Resolving the Inner Conflict

A woman meditating cross-legged, surrounded by an aura of modern and high-tech symbols

Last Tuesday I was haunted by an old fear again – the fear that has been part of my life for the past three years. I still remember when I used for the first time ChatGPT. I literally had the feeling I was opening pandora’s box in my personal life. Curiosity and the awareness that I would fall behind if I didn’t start using AI were mixed with something else, something much deeper. In specific, with the feeling of guilt for doing so. As if I risked to betray my own beliefs, to lose my spirituality.

“Should Spiritual People Use AI? Can I use AI and still be spiritual?”, most probably you have asked yourself at least once this question. Or else – you are doing it every time you need assistance from it or you seek to significantly improve your work. Is your conscience screaming when you give in to the temptation to leverage this technology? What are the reasons behind the feeling of guilt and should you suppress it?

This conflict is widely spread in spiritual communities. You can find opinions of both spectrums – the ones favoring using AI and those that completely deny it. You can encounter the statement of Teal Swan on YouTube that AI could spare human suffering – whether it heals your child or a beloved one from a disease. You could hear Sadh Guru say that AI and robotics could do all the work that we currently have to handle, so that in future we will have more free time to devote to God. But you can also read about warnings of Rudolf Steiner regarding Ahrimanic forces and the rise of a “mechanized intellect” detached from the human soul. And all this negativity backed up by current Buddhist and Christian leaders

Which path you should follow in the era of AI? The answer, I believe, is you can keep the purity of your soul even if you use AI. What is more – you should use AI!

Why we are drawn to AI and why we feel guilty about it

The controversial perception of AI comes from the fact that it is a dual-use technology. Its past and its future are far from being clear. Currently it is controlled by corporations that strive for progress but lack real purpose. Anyway, below are the reasons why I think we are attracted and simultaneously cautious about this technology reshaping our society:

  • Time efficiency – you can draft vast texts, generate images or something entirely else, by simply putting a prompt. And you just witness the final result. Sparing your time makes you more productive and leaves room for other engagements in your life. However, there is the other side of the coin: success comes with efforts and struggle. Using AI, I am not worthy of any blessings. I actually don’t deserve any success. I used an automated algorithm, not my own labor.
  • State of the art work – AI creates from scratch, or polishes what you have already created. It is not only faster, but more proficient than you in many spheres. It can provide you with better content and design. It can give you recommendations. It can implement the improvements itself. However, this makes you think you are not good enough at anything and you will eventually become useless and obsolete. Now there is a new player that exceeds you in almost any manner.
  • Nature of tech itself – AI is something more than just a trend. It is real tech. it is here and it will stay for a long time. And no one denies that it can amplify human abilities and accelerate our progress. Still, tech is compelling but it is something “artificial”. It doesn’t have a soul, it has been created by humans, not by God himself. AI is a distraction that makes humans deviate from their original purpose.

It seems like each argument in favor of AI has its opposing view. And this makes the situation so complicated. Should Spiritual People Use AI? Especially if you think we are living in “The last Times” and each soul has crucial significance in the battle between good and evil.

To use or not to use: the resolution

Having lived for decades in our society you probably think that there is no free lunch and that you have to pay for the benefits. Or worse – you are to be “punished” for your mistakes (and sins). If you strongly feel that AI controversy within you, it is very likely that you are one of those “warriors of light”. You know you have been born for a cause and you should abstain from some actions that ordinary people are allowed.

But what happens if we try to apply a wider and more transcendent view on the world and on spirituality? What if we grasp AI just as a neutral tool depending on our motives and stimulus? Because intentions precede and form our deeds. And “by their deeds you shall know them”.

Warrior of light, below I will ask you a few essential questions. Depending on your sincere answer you can make up your mind. I myself decided to proceed with AI. The questions themselves:

  • Does God want his warriors to be unarmed and defenseless in today’s world?
  • What will happen if warriors of light like you shy away from AI: AI will bring personal freedom OR widespread tyranny?
  • Assuming AI is evil, but can anything exist at all if not by the will of the Creator?
  • Can AI outsmart the Creator and change the end score even if you are mistaken?

Billionaires and corporations are investing fortunes to develop and deepen AI. Common man is at risk of being enslaved. And this is where the exact threat is coming from. We have a problem to solve:

  • Who will be in charge of AI and will we let it be a weapon in the wrong hands?
  • Will humans always be able to control it? Or instead, AI will go out of control and enslave both us and the ones that consider themselves its creators?

Judging from this perspective, on no occasion should we abstain from using AI. Because only the “bad guys” and the unawaken ones will use it. Then we will not be able to help the ones that are in need. I believe it will be for the better if good-hearted and spiritual people use AI to create beautiful novels, songs, videos, convey their messages and idea of freedom over security. If you use AI to rise your consciousness and to accelerate the awakening of others, then you may escape the loop and avoid becoming a slave to technology or a hell plan.

Last Words

I have discovered and enjoy a ton of great YouTube AI-driven channels. Some of them bring valuable info and insights, once available to only a small number of chosen-ones. You can try it out and dive into the true origins and mission of Jesus (Jeshua) and his real teaching, you can explore and simplify Buddhist concepts, or you can search for information about the single Source/Monad. If you benefit from the works of other creators who use AI, why not creating something with AI yourself?

Even if AI distorts the balance and creates more than you did, you are the original spark that ignited the creation, aren’t you? You are the “brain” and AI is the “hands”. You should be OK with such a scenario. What is more – you will accept that AI has made it easier for you to follow your mission. And acceptance, my friend, is an important part of your journey. Acceptance is far more efficient than resistance. Acceptance gives you inner freedom. Resistance makes you become something separate from the whole. Acceptance means integration and becoming whole.

If you have resonated with this article and feel somehow liberated, you can go on with AI and retain your spirituality. Just make sure you are in line with your ethics. Make sure before taking action you have laid a good and positive intention that is aimed at the greater good. Whenever there is light, there is no place for darkness.
